The “Poodles of the Chicken World” as I like to call them. Most people consider Silkies as purely ‘ornamental’ or just pets. They make the perfect backyard pet but they are also decent layers. Though their eggs are slightly smaller than standard chickens, they take up less room and they eat way less too. So not only do you get an economical layer but also a sweet and endearing one! My favorite girl is a Blue Silkie by the name of “Muffin” and her daughter are just too cute to handle. We offer silkies in White, Blue and Splash. Next year will also have Black and Buff Silkies!!
